David Driscoll, aged 65, of Roselle passed away August 3, 2019. Friends are invited to visit 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Dooley Funeral Home, 218 North Ave. West, Cranford. A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, August 8, at St. Joseph’s Church, Roselle. Interment will follow in Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth.

David attended St. Michael’s elementary in Cranford, graduated from Roselle Catholic HS in 1971, and graduated with bachelor’s degree in business from Mt. St. Mary’s University, Emmitsburg, Md., in 1975.

He was driven by a deep love and loyalty for family and friends. He displayed an entrepreneurial approach to life early on, running a roadside food stand on the rural highways of Maryland during his senior of at Mt. St. Mary’s, to support his young family. Upon graduation he assumed ownership and operation of the Riverside Inn in Cranford, at the age of 22, operating the tavern until its sale in 1997 and beginning his career at Allied Beverage. After selling the Riverside he was an award winning salesman for Allied Beverage for 24 years and sold real estate part-time.

Although having a strong work ethic, he also found relaxation in trips to Long Beach Island, clamming with Jerry Lamberti and brother-in-law Pete Kaplan; weekly rounds of golf with his father-in-law Gene Fitzpatrick; working in his garden and yard; long daily walks; and trips with his family and friends.

He was predeceased by his daughter Kelly Ann in 2001.

Surviving are his loving wife of 45 years Kathy, and his beloved sons Patrick, 36, and Thomas, age 31, and devoted siblings Maureen Kaplan (Peter), Lorraine Knight (Joseph), Donald (Eileen), and Michael, and a large extended family.
