Obituary for William Beirne

William Beirne, 75, passed away August 12, 2019. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, William lived in Cranford NJ for 44 years.
Bill AKA “Pops” worked as a Vending Serviceman at Rem Vending for over 25 years and enjoyed 13 years of retirement. He was a man of God, Country, and family. He treasured every moment with his family, whether it was family vacations, golfing, HOLIDAYS, dinners, or simply watching sporting events. He was an avid New Jersey Devils and New York Mets fan. It would be remised if his lifetime idol, # 7, MICKY MANTLE, # 7, was not mentioned. His family was his true passion and he adored every moment he got to spend with everyone. He loved his Coors Light and was one of the originals of Town Tavern in Cranford. Elvis and Neil Diamond were his favorites! As we all know his memorable Elvis dance moves. Pops loved to dance, he was the life of the party. He also had a true passion for late night snacks and LMN movies! OH yeah by the way…The NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS #12, (BRADY!)
He was predeceased by his parents John and Jean Beirne, and his brothers, John and Eugene “Pete”.
Surviving are his beloved wife Rose Marie, his children Michelle Massoni (Tom), William Beirne (Victoria), Bradford Beirne (Christine), and Brian Beirne. Grandchildren Erin Baker (Jim), Kailyn, Justin, Anthony, Gianna, Tyler, Lexi, Ryan, Brooke and one on the way. One great grandchild Mia (MiMi). Also surviving are his sister Maryann Martin, and his brother Daniel Beirne (Betty Jane) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to visit Thursday August 15 from 4-8pm at the Dooley Funeral Home, 218 North Ave. West in Cranford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be August 16, 9:30AM at St. Michael’s Church, 40 Alden Street Cranford, NJ. Interment in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital in William’s name.
